Important question. And the answers matter, too, because while the things my grandsons think are important - loving and making cookies - are important, the role of grandma is much more than these things.
So, for the coming few days, I want to look at the role of grandma. I want to think and talk about what a grandma needs to do . . . and I'd most sincerely appreciate your comments - please share what you think about the things I identify as the role of grandma and let me know what you consider to be part of the role of grandma as well.
I'm going to start with one of the most important things a grandma can do . . . pray. We need to be prayer warriors for our grandchildren. This world can be very frightening - terrorism, social change, political upheaval and so much more leaves us feeling uncertain about the world in which our grandchildren will grow up. It may leave us wondering how they will find their way through it all to love, know and follow Jesus with all their heart.
The truth is, we can not make our grandchildren choose to love, know and follow Jesus with all their heart, but we can pray for the following . . .
