Saturday Promises - God is Good, His Love Never Ends & He is Faithful Always

I don't know about you, but this has been a week filled with news reports which brought sadness to my heart. From the division in our country which was evidenced by yet another bitter election, to the senseless murder of people just enjoying a night out dancing at a bar and grill in California, to the news of yet another horrible fire in California burning an entire town to the ground; it was a week of news which left me feeling frustrated, disappointed and so sad. So, especially in light of the news of the week, I, for one, find great comfort in the promise God gives in Psalm 100:6 -
For the Lord is good, His love endures forever. His faithfulness continues to all generations.
When the news of the day leaves me feeling sad, I know God is good, His love never ends, He is faithful to me and all the generations who follow. When the news of the day leaves me feeling frustrated, I know God is good, His love never ends, He is faithful to me and all the generations who follow. When the news of the day leaves me feeling disappointed, I know God is good, His love never ends, He is faithful to me and all the generations who follow.

I am able to hold to the truth of God's promises; and hold to them firmly! And, this is a promise I am absolutely sharing with my grandsons. I know as they go through their lives, the news of the day will often leave them feeling frustrated, disappointed and sad, too. They need to know the truth of God's promises and how they are able to hold to them when they are grown; and now as they grow and go to school as well.

Since my grandsons are at my house on nearly all Saturdays, we have started taking time to look at the "Saturday Promises" together. We talk about what they mean and how we will remember the promises in the coming week. Then we pray and thank God for His promises. Whether your grandchildren live near or far, consider making Saturday a time to connect with them and share the "Saturday Promises" together. In this day and age, knowing God is good and is in control, He loves us, always, and we are able to depend upon His never-ending faithfulness will give us, and our grandchildren, the strength we need.
