We may think we are not really able to share what is on our heart when we pray; the concerns, cares and even things about which we may feel confused and upset. But David did and we do not read of any lightening bolts being sent from God to "zap" David for being "real".
Look at Psalms 102 for an example of a "real" prayer . . .
- David talked with God about how he felt like God was not listening to him.
- He felt like he was getting old - his days, "vanish like smoke".
- He talked about how others "taunted him".
Dear God, please hear my prayer; let my cry for help come before You. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me;and your years will never end. Please help me live in Your presence and establish all my descendants before You. Thank You for Your great love for us; I love You, too - Amen.#grandmas #handingdownthefaith #itmatterswhatwedo#grandparentingonpurpose
