This photo was taken yesterday (November 30, 2018) by Forest Rangers at the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. It shows a fresh layer of snow on top of Shasta Bally and the amazing beauty of the sunrise. When I saw this photo I thought of Isaiah 61:3 . . .
To help those who sorrow. I will give them a crown to replace their ashes, and the oil of gladness to replace their sorrow, and clothes of praise to replace their spirit of sadness. Then they will be called Trees of Goodness, trees planted by the to show His greatness.
God promised to replace our ashes of sorrow with a crown, the oil of gladness and clothes of praise! This is the CEV, but other versions talk about God giving us beauty in place of ashes.
This wonderful promise is one we will likely have opportunities to share with our grandchildren as they grow up. There will be times when they face sadness and sorrow, but God will not leave them, He promises to replace their sorrow with gladness and to give beauty for the ashes.
Consider writing a note to your grandchildren and share a time in your life where God has done this for you.
