Believe the Truth About Prayer

When do you pray? Is prayer an essential part of each day for you, or is it something you "tag" on to your day and put wherever you happen to think about it? I have friends who are serious prayer warriors, but I spent most of my life struggling with prayer; how to pray and praying daily. I understand what it feels like to think my prayers do not even make it past the roof of my house. But, this is not the truth. My prayers make it to the most important, "place" . . . they make it to the ears of God. Every, single time.

If Satan is able to deceive us into believing prayer is too hard, we do not know how to pray, God does not hear our prayers and we do not have time to pray, then we will not pray. We need to focus upon the truth when it comes to prayer and the following is the truth about prayer . . .
  • God ALWAYS hears our prayers. Always.      1 John 5:14, 15 - "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him."
  • Nothing is too difficult for God. Nothing. Jeremiah 32:7 - "Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you."
  • God loves us. Absolutely. 1 John 4:16 - "So we have come to know and to believe the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him."
  • God answers our prayers. Hebrews 4:15 - "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
The Bible is filled with verses about prayer - these barely scratch the surface. The important thing to remember - and believe - is God hears our prayers, nothing is too hard for God, God loves us and God answers our prayers; whether we think we are "good" at praying, or not.

So, be a grandma (grandpa/parent) who prays. Show your grandchildren how to pray and be sure they know the truth about prayer as well. This is one the most powerful things you are able to do when it comes to handing down the faith.

Choose to believe the truth about prayer; do not be deceived by Satan's lies. Because the truth is, when prayer is our, "first line of defense", we are in the strongest, best position possible.
