Use Kind & Gentle Words

The Bible tells us to use kind, gentle words as they will soothe angry feelings. In Colossians 4:6 it says -
Your speech should always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.
In the Gospels we read how Jesus did not send children away, but He spent time with them talking to them and blessing them. Clearly God's Word in these, and other, places has much to say about how we talk to others - including children.

If we are calm, gentle, gracious and people who use our words to give blessings, then we will leave a lasting impression - one which shows love and builds the children - and any others up.

I wrote last week about the impact our words have upon our grandchildren and children. (You will find it at this link.) Just as the leader in the Iditarod discovered, yelling brings with it a high price. Let's be people - especially grandmas, grandpas and parents - who use kind and gentle words with the children we love.
