Books & Resources From the Grandmas with Heart - and a Request for Help

One of the things we Grandmas with Heart want to do is to provide tools - books and resources - which will equip you to grow in your walk with God and hand down the faith to your children and grandchildren. While there are a few books out there for grandparents, most of them are written by grandpas - which is great as they have much to offer, but so do grandmas. Today I want to let you know about some resources written by some of the Grandmas with Heart and where you will find them.

Currently, three of us have books and resources available - Linda Ranson Jacobs is the author of  the single parent: confident andsuccessful - definitely a must-read book for single parents/grandparents as well as for those who are not single. You will find Lynda Freeman's review and information of where you are able to find it at this link

Cathy Jacobs is the author of PASS THE LEGACY: 7 Keys for Grandparents Making a Difference. Cathy wrote about her book and where to find it at this linkIf you want to pass the legacy and hand down the faith, get a copy - it will make a difference in how you see this amazing God-given "job" and will help you make a true difference in the lives of the ones you love.

I (Lynda Freeman) have three books currently available and three more by mid-end of October. The three which are available are all books which have been available previously, but they have some new content, new covers and the names have been "tweaked" a bit. The first two are Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Grandparents & Parents, Too! Praying the Scriptures for the Children You Love which is available at this link, and Praying Deeper Through the Old Testament for Grandparents & Parents, Too! Praying the Scriptures for the Children You Love which is available at this link. Both of these books will give you 52 weeks of personalized Scripture prayers for you and for the ones you love. The third book is, Don't Worry; It is Impossible to Spoil Grandchildren, which is available at this linkand it will help you put the pieces together when it comes to handing down the faith.

Along with letting you know about these resources which are all currently available for you, I wanted to ask for some input on a soon-to-be-released book for the children you love who are preschool through middle school ages. My grandsons and I have been working on a book to help them - and other children - learn to pray, by learning to pray the Psalms. It is called - Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children and follows the same weekly schedule for praying through the Psalms as does Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Grandparents & Parents, Too! In Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children we took these passages and made them into "nutshell prayers" - which simplified the passages for children to understand and personalized them into prayers - one with simple drawings for non-readers, one with words, but easy to understand for new readers/elementary age children and one which was "deeper" for older elementary/middle school age children.

If you have grandchildren/children who are these ages and would be willing to take a look and give it a try, then let us know what you think of it, please email me at lyndagcj@gmail.com and I will email some of it to you. My grandsons and I would value your feedback. (Here is a sneak peek at the cover!)

We Grandmas with Heart are committed to continue to provide information, ideas and resources on our blog which will encourage and equip you to hand down the faith, but we also have resources we will be releasing which will provide books/tools to help you grow in your own walk and which may be useful for small groups/classes to work through together, as well as tools you will be able to use with your grandchildren and ones you will be able to give to them - and then engage with them to talk together about what they read. As books/resources become available in these for areas, we will add them to the page on our blog - Books & Resources From the Grandmas with Heart.
