God Does Not Let Go

When the ones we love turn away from a walk with God, this leaves damage in their lives - some may be obvious, other damage may not show up for years; but it is there nonetheless. If you have a son, daughter, in-law and/or grandchild who has wandered from a walk with God, you know how heart-breaking this is to watch. But, as Barbara Johnson said; "God never gives up on us, no matter how hard we try to get ourselves loose."

Take heart and be encouraged by the truth of how God, "sticks around". He does not leave the ones we love who are wandering and He does not leave us, either. It is easy - far, too easy - for us to blame ourselves if the ones we love do not walk with God. We think we should have done a better job of handing down the faith. We think we should have prayed more, taught more, done more, said more, been "more". But the truth is, each person - including the ones we love - make the choices they make on their own.

I hear from grandmas at church and who read my blog how they blame themselves for their children/grandchildren who have wandered. Please take this truth to heart. Regardless of if we could have done more or not, the ones we love are responsible on their own to make the choice to believe in and walk with God.

As I have been writing, Jesus is the Good Shepherd. If the ones you love had a time when they believed, they are His sheep and He does not turn his back on His sheep when they wander . . . He goes and finds them. God never gives up on us - or the ones we love.

Find your comfort in God - He has clearly promised to hear, listen and answer when you talk with Him. His answers come in His time - which is perfect - even if you believe "now" is an amazing time for the answers to come! Hold tightly to God, believe His Word, model a love which is faithful and trust God to do what He has said He will do. And know; "God does not let go."

    1. I understand when a grown child wanders - I know the pain and when I write I think "now" is a great time, it is because I'd love for "now" to be the perfect time. But, I have been able to see God work and know He is not turning His back on the ones I love and firmly believe He will not turn His back on the ones you love. God does not let go.
