Long-Distance Grandparenting

One of the things we want to do for you is to let you know about resources which are available to help you as you strive to hand down the faith on purpose. If your grandchildren live far from you, this is more challenging, so today I'm very happy to let you know about a new book from Wayne Rice - Long-Distance Grandparenting.

If you served in Youth Ministry, you may be familiar with Wayne Rice's work as he is the co-founder of Youth Specialties. When it comes to nurturing and developing faith in children Wayne knows what he is talking about. As the grandpa to five who do not live near, he knows what he is talking about when it comes to nurturing the faith of your grandchildren when you are not able to be there in person.

This little booklet only has 106 pages, so it will not take you long to read it and glean the wealth of ideas you will find in it for handing faith to your grandchildren who do not live near - and ideas which would be great for those who do as well.

Wayne covers praying for grandchildren, connecting personally with them, holidays and special occasions, connecting with young adult grandchildren and more, but my favorite part is the last chapter - Wayne's "Cliffs Notes" where he gives us his "bottom line".

I happily recommend Wayne's book - Long-Distance Grandparenting as in it Wayne share's his heart for handing down the faith to grandchildren - whether they live near or not. (You will find the book at this link.)
