Start Again

There was a time when my grandsons and their poppa and I took time to pray together. I loved hearing them pray - and watching as they recorded their prayer requests in their own journals. But, as our lives became more busy, we did not take the time to pray together. I and their poppa continued to pray for them, but praying together is not something we were doing on a regular basis. We prayed Scripture blessings together. We shared the things for which we are thankful before meals, but keeping our journals - recording prayer requests and answers is something we have not been doing.

So, as the new school year begins and as we are experiencing the opportunity of seeing how God has answered some significantly big prayer requests in the past month, I have purchased new journals for my grandsons and we are going to be starting over the practice of keeping prayer journals as we pray together once again.

We are going to be working our way though Generations Quest - Cultivate the Faith! this year - one lesson each week for the coming 52 weeks and part of each lesson is time spent keeping a prayer journal and praying together. I am looking forward to this time we will spend learning about people from the Bible who made the choice to love, know and walk with God, time to talk about the "whys" when it comes to believing in God and trusting the Bible with confidence, time to pray together and time to discover and build memories together - but mostly to the time we spend praying together.

You are able to get the Kindle copy of this book for free today through Friday - September 2, 2019 - September 6, 2019. Just go to this link and download it - then make plans to learn, pray and build memories together with your grandchildren over the coming year.

If you, like me, find you have slipped from praying regularly with your grandchildren, take heart! None of us are perfect grandparents - we are able to start again. Consider picking up some journals for them to write and/or draw their requests - and how/when God answers and start praying together. If your grandchildren live far, mail them the journals (these are the journals I got for my grandsons) then schedule a time each week where you connect over the phone, through facetime or google hangouts and pray together. Make this new school year a time where you and they pray together - whether it is something you are already doing, or not.
