Tell the "Whys" - Science Shows a Cause, a Designer & Intelligence

When I was young, since I was a Christian, it made sense to me to believe God is real and the Bible is true. It was a "given" I would believe. So, when I became a parent, I focused upon helping my children learn what the Bible says, Who God is and took them to a solid church where they would be involved in serving. It never occurred to me to teach them "why" we believe God is real and they are able to trust the Bible with confidence.

But, the world in which we live now and in which our grown children and grandchildren live is different than it was when I was growing up. When I was a child nearly all my teachers in the public school were Christians, I knew which churches all my neighbors attended and even tv shows had characters who prayed before meals and at bedtime, talked about going to church and were not afraid to show Bibles being read by the characters. Yes, it was a very different world.

Now college professors - and even High School, Jr. High and Elementary school teachers openly challenge the Bible and faith in God. Our grandchildren may very well experience being ridiculed or belittled for their faith by the adults who teach them. While science today is showing a Cause, Design and Intelligence behind creation and life, they are taught it was all just something which randomly happened.

Along with teaching our grandchildren the Bible, taking them to church, getting them involved in serving, we must teach them "why" they are able to believe God is real and they are able to trust His Word with confidence. I love this quote from Lee Strobel's book; The Case for a Creator: A Journalist Investigates Scientific Evidence That Points Toward God
“If it's true there's a beginning to the universe, as modern cosmologists now agree, then this implies a cause that transcends the universe. If the laws of physics are fine-tuned to permit life, as contemporary physicists are discovering, then perhaps there's a designer who fine-tuned them. If there's information in the cell, as molecular biology shows, then this suggests intelligent design. To get life going in the first place would have required biological information; the implications point beyond the material realm to a prior intelligent cause." - Stephen C Meyer, PHD
I am not a cosmologist. I am not a physicist. I am not a molecular biologist. I am not someone with a phd behind my name. I am a regular person, but I am so thankful for people who are these things who are sharing what modern science is showing us today. When Darwin walked this Earth, they did not know about DNA or many of the discoveries of modern science. More and more as people who are physicists, molecular biologists and cosmologists study the world around us, they are able to see life on Earth did not happen by random "luck". They are learning the proof points to design, which means there had to be an intelligent Designer.

We are able to believe in God and trust His Word with confidence, because He makes sense and science is showing this! Tell your grandchildren . . . with confidence!
