Commit to Make God's Love the Cornerstone of Your Home

As 2019 ends we certainly see our country struggling to find a level path forward. There is so much turmoil and division around us in our nation and possibly in our own families. I love this quote from John Coulombe; a truly godly and wise person.
If things are going to get better in this country, it's not about changing what happens in the White House; it's about changing what happens in OUR house.
While in this election year and with all the things happening in Washington D.C. we are focused upon what is happening in the White House, and are more convinced than ever of the need for us to pray for all our leaders. We also need to be focused upon praying for our families and doing what we are able to do to make our homes a place where God comes first, a place where He is loved and His love is shown to all others - in our family, in our country and in the world around us.

When Jesus was asked in Matthew 22:36-40 about which commandment was the greatest, most important commandment, He answered; "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." God wants us to love Him and others; all others and when we do these two things, our lives, the lives of our families, the lives of those around us and throughout the world will be better.

In 1965 a popular song released which spoke to how the world needed love; it's chorus went like this . . .
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No not just for some but for everyone.
These words are still true today - our families, communities, country, world needs love, real love, but I would say the love they need is from God and His love is for everyone and is available for everyone; it will never run out, have there be too little of it or just for some. But we, the ones who have experienced God's amazing love, need to be committed to sharing it with the people He put in our lives and in the world.

Yes, things will get better in our world, in our country when God's love is known in our homes and families. Let's commit to be grandparents who hand down the faith by making God's love the cornerstone of our homes and who show this love to everyone.
