We Must Remember & Remind

As 2019 draws to a close there are certainly many things I want to remember; things and times where God showed His love to us in big and small ways. For example, God answered a huge prayer for my family this year by opening the door for my son/daughter-in-law to buy a house in the best school district (one of the top 250 in the country). It was an absolute miracle they even got the house and now after the first semester in their new schools, my grandsons are doing very well and are very happy in their new schools! A HUGE answer to prayer for sure!

I also want to remember how my grandsons are starting to become people who walk with God on their own! They helped write the book - Praying dee - and are using it to learn to pray the Psalms. I am able to see a difference in their lives as they become people who talk with God on their own! Another HUGE answer to prayer.

God answered prayers this year for my daughter with a promotion at work and a possible call to ministry. It has been a year of answers to prayer without a doubt.

I want to remember how God has answered prayer and worked in our lives in 2019 and I want to be sure my grandsons remember as well. We were talking last weekend about why it matters for them to have a walk of their own with God - about why it isn't enough for them to see their Poppa and I walk with God. I reminded them of how God answered the prayers of their great-great grandparents and saved them from a tornado and how my grandma never told me about it. I only learned about it a couple years ago when my sister found the account in our grandma's journal. My oldest grandson asked me why my grandma never told me about it and I told him I didn't know, but I wanted to be sure to tell him and his brothers how God works in my life and want them to keep a record of how He works in their lives so we remember and do not forget. So we are able to tell the generations who come behind us, so they will remember as well and will be able to have a walk of their own with God/

As Deuteronomy 4:9 says - we "must be very careful not to forget the things you have seen God do for you. Keep reminding yourselves and tell your children and grandchildren as well." We must remember and remind as this year ends and going forward.
