You abhor bullying. You detest “haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community” (Proverbs 6:16-19, NIV).
Today we pray for You to protect our grandchildren against gossip, harmful teasing and bullying. Place your armor upon them—Your belt of truth, Your breastplate of righteousness, Your shoes of readiness to stand for the Gospel of peace, Your shield of faith, Your helmet of salvation and Your sword of the Holy Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-18). Shield their hearts and minds from hurtful words, insults, lies and pranks.
We also pray for the classroom bullies. We can’t begin to imagine what inner turmoil drives them to enjoy intimidating and humiliating others. Please forgive them, Lord, and heal them from the pain they too must be suffering.
In Your Name,
