See Our Great God Who is Able to Do What He Has Promised

I have family members who once walked with God and now do not. I know the heartbreak which comes with this, so this quote from Crawford Loritts is encouraging to me - "Faith does not deny your children (siblings) have walked away from the faith. It looks at it. It 'considers' it. It examines it. It stares it in the eye, but it says; 'You don't stop or determine what God wants done. So I stare through you and see my great God, Who is able to do what He has promised."

So when my heart is heavy for family I love, I remember the reason Jesus came - to draw ALL people to Him - this includes drawing those who have not yet believed, drawing back those who once believed and to draw closer those who are walking with Him. I remember verses like Ezekiel 36:26,27 -
I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
I pray for my family who are not walking with God to once again have a heart of flesh, to have a new heart and spirit, so they will once again walk in God's way and follow Him. I find great encouragement in God's promises for those who are wandering. Don't give up. Continue to pray. Continue to hand down the faith, continue to trust God to do as He promised and continue to see our great God Who is able to do what He has promised.
