Pass it On to the Next Generation

Handing down the faith. These four words are at the core of the most important job we have ever been given, and we have been given this most important job by God. Handing down the faith to our children, grandchildren and the  generations which follow, may seem, at times, like a confusing and difficult thing for us to do, but it is all about the following . . .
  • We need to watch - watch for how God shows His character - His faithfulness, His love, His grace to us; in both the big and small ways.
  • We need to remember - keep track of how God shows His character - His faithfulness, His love, His grace to us; in both the big and small ways.
  • We need to tell - how God shows His character - His faithfulness, His love, His grace to us; in both the big and small ways.
  • We need to know what Scripture has to say - know the truth of Who God is; He is holy, He is love, He is full of grace, He always keeps His word.
  • We need to faithfully share with our family what we learn from and experience in God's Word.
These things are not complicated or difficult; they are things we are able to do in the day-in-day-out everydayness of our lives and in those times when we face something "big" - illness, severe weather, Covid-19, a difficult time related to work or any other situation. We need to always hold to the Character of God - Who He Is and the truth of God's Word and be committed to purposefully and faithfully hand down to our family this "Faith History". This is handing down the faith and we are able to do it!
