Speak a Word of Affirmation at the Right Moment

Words have power. In a study performed by the Royal Horticultural Society, researchers discovered talking to your plants really can help them grow faster. Yes, words have power.

With children our words have power, too, as they are able to help them grow strong, confident and assured, or tear them down and leave them with scars which go deep and last throughout their lives. As Gary Smalley said; "Speak a word of affirmation at the right moment in a child's life, and it's like lighting up a whole roomful of possibilities."

We have many, "right moments" as grandmas (and grandpas/ parents, too) to speak these words of affirmation to the children we love, and when we do, we are able to help them grow and make a significant difference in their lives. We need to watch for these, "right moments" and live as people who speak words of affirmation as part of the way we talk to our grandchildren/children throughout their lives.

Since our words are able to help the ones we love grow, watch for those "right moments" and do not let them slip by. Use your spoken, and written, words generously and sincerely to encourage them, help them grow and open up those "possibilities".
