Do It. Make the Difference. Do What Matters.

In the past few weeks and months we have experienced how one person is able to make a difference when it comes to spreading covid-19 and when it comes to standing up, listening, and bringing about change in our country for how people of color are treated. These are important things for us to do and talk about with the children we love. One person is able to make a difference - this is something we have been able to see.

I know. You have read, repeatedly, how I believe you are able to make a significant, real and lasting difference in the lives of your grown children and grandchildren. More than one time you have read over the past three years how I believe what you do as a grandma (or grandpa or parent) most certainly matters. It is nothing new for you to read how it is of utmost importance for you to hand down the faith. There is a reason for these things . . . because they are true. You are able to make a significant, real and lasting difference in the lives of your grown children and grandchildren, what you do as a grandma (or grandpa or parent) most certainly matters and it absolutely is the truth when I write about how it is of utmost importance for you to hand down the faith.

You do make a difference. You do matter. You are able to do the thing which is of utmost importance.

If you do not model what it
looks like to do the hard thing by staying home and wearing a mask when you are out, then you are missing the opportunity to model this important truth - when we love others as Jesus told us to do, we care about them and take the actions necessary to show it.

If you do not model what it looks like to listen, stand, and make the right choice by saying and living the truth of how if all lives matter, then black lives absolutely matter, and you will hold this truth up to the ones you love, so they are able to understand and do the same, then you are once again missing the opportunity to model this important truth - when we love others as Jesus told us to do, we care about black lives, and we show it.

If you do not hand down the faith, it is entirely possible no one will. If you do not invest in the lives of your grown children and grandchildren, it is entirely possible no one will. If you do not pray for them, it is entirely possible no one will. If you do not hand down a strong Spiritual DNA and share your family's Faith and Prayer History, it is entirely possible no one will. If you do not do these things, it is entirely possible no one will.

Just as in the photo and quote above one person made a significant difference in each of those things - for a positive outcome, or negative one, you are able to make a significant difference - for the positive or negative - in the lives of your grown children and grandchildren. There is no other you. No one else is able to make the impact you are able to make. What you do and say absolutely does matter. So, do it. Make the difference. Do what matters when it comes to loving and standing up for all others, and when it comes to handing down the faith - there is no other you; you are the one who is able to do these things for the ones you love.
