Set Those Positive Examples

As grandma (and grandpa, too) we are an example to our grandchildren - whether we are thinking about it, or not. The way we respond to stress, frustration, difficult situations, and the positive times in life as well, is something our grandchildren see. They notice. What we do speaks far louder than what we say, so the things we do, and the things we say, make an impact and leave an example.

We must be aware of the example we are setting and we must be intentional when it comes to setting a positive example. This does not mean we are "fake", real emotion expressed in positive, healthy ways and responded to in the same positive, and healthy ways is part of setting a good example. We do need to be "real", but we are able to show how the Fruit of the Spirit and our love for others influences the way we respond, and when we do, we are leaving an entirely positive example for the ones we love.

We know all this, but it is helpful to be reminded. Be intentional about setting those positive examples.
