Team Up with Your Grandchildren & Pray

We know handing down the faith means we pray for the children we love. We know handing down the faith means we teach the children we love about God, His Word, how they are able to believe in Him and trust His Word with confidence. We know handing down the faith means we take the children we love to church and provide opportunities for them to learn to serve others. All these things are part of what we mean when we talk about handing down the faith. It also includes helping these children learn to be people who walk and talk with God on their own.

As grandparents it is often easier to teach our grandchildren about God than it is to help them learn to be people who talk with God on their own - especially if their parents are not walking and talking with God. While we are able to pray with them when they are at our home, getting them to pray consistently at their own home when they have to do this on their own may be challenging. But, it is absolutely something important for us to do and is something for us to continue to focus upon. Don't give up.

If you are looking for a tool to help you teach the children you love ages four through fourteen how to be people who talk with God, check out the book Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children. This book will take the children you love through the Book of Psalms in a year as they pray it back to God.

And, if you buy the digital version from our bookstore, I will email you the digital version for grandparents and parents for free, so you all are able to make the coming year a time of talking to God together.
