We Have a Mandate from God

Nature shows us God is real and He loves us - just look at the design in everything from the tiniest creature to the largest - and everything in-between. God did not have to create the vast array of plants, animals, colors, fragrances, food, etc. He could have left the Earth with just a couple animals, one color - a very basic world. But He did not. He created a colorful, interesting, amazing world in which we are able to live - and enjoy His creation. Yes, His creation definitely draws people to Him!

But, creation is not the only part of God's plan to draw people to Him. Throughout the Bible we read where the older generations are supposed to tell the younger generations the ways God has shown Himself to be real in our lives. God wants us to talk with Him, and tell our children and grandchildren the ways He has answered our prayers. God wants us to trust Him, and tell our children and grandchildren the true accounts of how He has worked in our lives when we trusted Him. God wants us to experience the big and small ways He has blessed our lives, and tell our children and grandchildren what these blessings look like in our own lives. God wants us to experience how He is real, and tell our children and grandchildren, so they will know He is real. God wants us to experience His love, and tell our children and grandchildren, so they will be able to see and know the ways He shows His love to them.

Handing down the faith involves all these things, and God has asked us as parents and grandparents to be the people who hand down the faith to the ones we love. This is God's plan. We do have a mandate from God to teach the younger generations to know Him.
