We pray for our grandchildren who are heading back to high school and college. Protect them from any pitfalls, which await them. Pitfalls called identity-crisis, self-worth, and peer pressure. Pitfalls persuading them to challenge and rebel against their parents and the values they’ve been taught.
We pray You guard their hearts and guide their decisions. Please don’t let them walk “in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seats of scoffers” (Psalm 1:1). Please don’t let them “associate with anyone who… is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler” (I Corinthians 5:11).
Let them choose friends who are honest and trustworthy; friends who have godly principles and strong moral convictions. For “whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companions of fools will suffer harm” (Proverbs 13:20).
In Jesus’ Name, we pray.
