Trust God. Hold Tightly to Him

You may, or may not, know much about Elisabeth Elliot, but she was the wife of Jim Elliot - one of the missionaries killed by the Auca tribe in Ecuador in 1956. She, and Jim, believed God brought them to Ecuador to reach the Auca people and share the Good News of Jesus with them, but while trying to connect with them, the Auca people were frightened and killed Jim.

Now, you might think Elisabeth returned to the States with their baby full of questions, wondering why God brought them to Ecuador, why He allowed Jim to be killed, but no. She stayed in Ecuador. She even took her baby daughter and moved to the village of the very people who killed her husband. Through her forgiveness and grace the Auca people learned about Jesus and responded to His offer of grace and forgiveness. As she said;
We never know what God has up His sleeve. You never know what might happen; You only know what you have to do NOW.
As we work to hand down a confident faith, we do not know what might happen. We just know what we must do now - hold on to God and continue to share the truth with the ones we love.

As our grandchildren return to school - whether at home or in-class - we do not know what God has up His sleeve. We do not know what might happen. We just know what we have to do now - trust Him, hold tightly to Him. Follow His direction. If your grandchildren are starting school at home - hold tightly to God, trust Him and help them learn to do the same. If they are returning to in-class school - hold tightly to God, trust Him and help them learn to do the same - it is what we have to do now.
