Make Sure Your Grandchildren Know What Prayer Is All About
As grandmas - and grandpas, too - we know prayer makes a
If you have grown children who are also intentional when it comes to handing down the faith - first of all be very thankful. It is likely your grandchildren are hearing about and experiencing how this is true in their day-in-day-out lives.
But, if they are not, and even if they are, make sure you are also showing them the truth behind this quote - "Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God." Tell them this. Model it. Share how God answers and gets involved in your conversations. Invite them to join you in talking with God. Ask them how God is answering their prayers. Keep a journal with them of the ways God answers your prayers.
These are not difficult things to do and you are able to do them whether you live near or far from your grandchildren. The important thing is to make sure they know prayer is not difficult, weird, or unimportant. It is the opportunity for them to talk with God - and listen for how He answers! Teaching them this truth is part of handing down a confident faith - which is certainly something we all want to do.
