The Most Important Thing - Point Them to God!

In an ordinary year the Fall is a very busy time of year; children go
to school, opportunities at church begin
to kick into "high gear", children trick-or-treat or go to Fall/harvest festivals at church, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner . . . yes, typically it is a very busy time of year with so many things happening. Of course, this year with covid, who knows if Fall will hold all these things - or even some of them. It is far too easy for us to become so focused on the many things we have to do - or used to do, we end up losing our focus on the things which are the most important . . . pointing children to God!

We want our grandchildren to know, love, and walk with God all of their lives, but these are things they have to do for themselves. They are decisions and choices they need to make. It isn't enough for us and for their parents to know, love, and walk with God. They have to make this choice for themselves.

So, as we continue through this time of year, whether it is busy or not, let's be ready to share why we love God, how we know and walk with Him, and how they are able to do the same! As we get ready for Thanksgiving, be intentional about sharing with your grandchildren the many blessings; big and small, for which you are thankful!

As you get ready for Christmas, enjoy the lights, decorations, and fun, but be sure to point your grandchildren to God and His great Gift of Jesus! After all, we celebrate Christmas because of Jesus!

Celebrate this time of year with great joy - whether it is busy like "normal", or not this year, but in all your celebrating, don't forget the most important thing . . . point them to God!
