I know grandmas - and grandpas - who have sons, daughters, in-laws who join them in handing down confident faith to the children they all love. These grandparents are part of a strong team made up of the first and second most influential people in the lives of their grandchildren - the parents and grandparents. When this strong team works and prays together to hand down confident faith, they are able to make a significant impact upon the lives of the children they all love.I also know grandmas - and grandpas - who are the only ones who hand down confident faith to their grandchildren. These grandmas - and grandpas - are also able to make a significant impact upon the lives of the children they love, but when they are the only ones who hand down confident faith, it is easy to become tired and to feel alone.
So, today, whether you are part of a strong team, or if you are handing down confident faith on your own, I want to encourage you to, "disturb the present" and continue to "disturb the present". Don't give up! There will be times when you are able to see your grandchildren make wise choices and grow in their walk with God; when this happens rejoice and continue to, "disturb the present".
There may be times when you watch as your grandchildren do not make wise choices and do not grow in their walk with God; if this happens, go ahead and weep, but hold more tightly to God and continue to, "disturb the present".
As Catherine Booth said; "If we are to better the future we must disturb the present." So, hand down confident faith. Don't give up. "Disturb the Present". Make a difference. It matters.
