Don't Waste Our Remaining Days

With the increase in covid, there will be families in our country - and around the world - who will be going into the Holiday season with a great sense of loss if someone they love has died. There will be young people and children who may feel afraid as they are no longer about to go to school. There may be families who do not know how they will pay their bills if they no longer have jobs. All of these things remind us of the truth in this quote from John Piper - we must not waste the life we have today.

While covid may open our eyes to the "precariousness" of life, none of us ever know how many days we have to live on this Earth. Life was precious before covid, it is precious with covid, and will be precious after covid. This is a very important message for us to share with the ones we love.

And, if we are so blessed to have our family "intact" after eight months of covid, we have so very much for which to be thankful. If we have jobs and the children we love are doing well, we have so very much for which to be thankful. Along with being thankful, look for ways to be a blessing to those who are experiencing loss and difficulty at this time - find ways to involve your grandchildren in doing this with you. When we help the ones we love see these things, we are helping them have eyes which see, and are quick to share, their blessings, and we are not wasting our remaining days.
