The children we love have been experiencing something none of us ever experienced - the closing of their schools for the last year. While some of them have been able to return to their classrooms, others continue to learn through virtual school. Some of them have not been able to spend time with their friends for over a year, and it may be the Fall before they return to in-person classes. They have been living 24/7 with their siblings, and even if they typically get along, this 24/7 sibling time may "get under their skin" and have them functioning on their "last nerve".Now, more than ever, these children we love need to know how very deeply they are loved. There is NOTHING they will ever say or do which would make them no longer our children/grandchildren. On a physical, biological level, they are and will always be our children/grandchildren. NOTHING will ever be able to change this. And, since we are their grandparents/parents and have absolutely made the choice to love them, there is NOTHING they will ever say or do to make us stop loving them. We need to be certain to remind them of these truths at all times, but especially now.
Plus, even more important is the truth of how when they make the choice to believe in Jesus, they become part of God's family and there is NOTHING they will ever say or do which will make them no longer God's child. And, since God made the choice to love them with a faithful, never-ending love, there is NOTHING they will ever say or do to make Him stop loving them.
These truths about how much God loves them and how there is nothing they will ever do/say to make them no longer part of God's family and how much we love them and there is nothing they will ever do/say to make them no longer part of our family are essential truths for them to know at all times, but even more so now. Take time today to remind them of these truths and to be the someone they need in their lives.
